Subject: Solid show
This was a very good show. The club next door was very annoying especially during Rosemary. I was suprised at how many people around me had no idea what the song was. When my buddy said rosemary 3 people asked what he meant.Oh well. Nice even playing & the St Stephen>Not Fade Away>St. Stephen>The Eleven was awesome. Personally thought the One More Saturday Night on a Friday was a really cool surprise. Don't think anyone saw that coming. I love this band. Agree that this doesn't really rate 5 stars but definitely a solid 4. The 5th star is for Phil. 68 yrs old & just keeps truckin on. YOU DA MAN!!!! And 14 shows in the fall @ NOKIA. Are u kidding me? Hope I have 1/2 the energy at that age.
Check out Jones Beach 7/13. I think it's fair to give it a 5 star rating. HOT HOT HOT.

Kind of a slow first set but overall a killer show that was a ton of fun. Bird-Peggy-O-When You're Walkin’, are all great songs but three slow ones in a row hit hard when you wanna dance. Second Set rocked though! Uncle Johns got things going and I think Lazy River really fit well before Phil took us deep into the Philzone with Scarlet>Fire. Great to see Greg Osby there! The Stephen>NFA>Stephen>Eleven was nothing short of stellar. I saw this same band in October and I can truly say that they have gotten a lot tighter (almost as tight as PLQ?). The Rosemary>Morning was gorgeous with Teresa on vocals and I thought it worked well with the mood the warm summer solstice brought to Philly. A beautiful day/night in the city with fantastic music...Thank You Phil!

OK folks, I was there and I'm not giving this a five star night, I reserve five stars for the truely special occasions, like the last night at the Nokia in NYC or the Glen Falls show with Trey last fall. Both nights were amazing. Last Friday night at Festival Pier was solid and deliberate in tempo, but the pace of the show and the crowd didn't make to the top of the list. The venue is just a slab of concrete with a stage, nothing special, and there wasn't an especially high level of energy even on a a solstice. First set highlights: Tennessee Jed got the place going, Birdsong was especially slow but very sweet, as usual Cumberland Blues rocked to close the set. Second Set: Uncle Johns was the crowd favorite, after that most were lost (hence the lack of energy), Scarlet Begonias was very nice, Fire was a bit dull, St. Stephens>NFA>St. Stephens>The Eleven as very well done, but the choice of Rosemary and Morning Dew was a bit down to close on. Saturday Night on a Friday Night???

I know everyone says that whatever show they saw was the best ever simply because they were there and that makes it cool no matter what..but I can honestly say that this was THE best musical performance I have ever been luckly enough to witness.
There was so much energy flowing off the stage it seemed like the entire band was speeding. One girl even popped up on stage out of nowhere and almost made it to Phil before security gripped her up. They didnt kick her out tho i was her walkin down the side of the stage and back into the crowd. The only low point for me was a lethargic Fire..other than that absolutely flawless from end to end. The crowd was amazing as the Phil scene always is..security was nonexistant beyond the entrance gate. No sinks or water fountains tho 8*-(
Long story short...I doubt that I will ever feel the way I did again this night. If your name is Cindy and you have big blonde dreads and were talking to Tony..look me up.
